Funny Stuff: Little Johnny : The Genius

It was Friday morning, and that meant it was time for an activity that the teacher called "add to the picture". The teacher would call students to the chalkboard one at a time. The first student would draw an object on the chalkboard, and each following student would add something to the picture to make it a new picture.
The teacher called on James to start things off. James returned to his seat.
The teacher called on Ernie next.
Ernie returned to his seat.
Now it was Suzy's turn.

Suzy returned to her seat.
Next, the teacher called Jerry to the board.

Jerry returned to his seat.Kim was called to the board.

Kim returned to her seat.

About this time, little Johnny began waving his arm hysterically. Little Johnny was well known for being off center, so the teacher was reluctant to call on him for anything. But as the teacher looked at the picture on the chalkboard, she thought that there was no way that little Johnny could possibly do anything to make this picture dirty. So she called on little Johnny, and he ran to the chalkboard.
The entire class erupted with laughter... the teacher fainted.

Little Johnny had done it again.

Motivational Story: Must Read.

Deposit of Happiness!!!!
After the wedding party of Monica and Hitesh , Monica's mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook with a deposit of Rs.1000.

Monica’s Mother requested Monica to take the passbook and keep a record of her marriage life.

“When there's something happy and memorable which happens in your life, deposit some money in the account. Write down what it's about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I've done the first one for you today. Do the others with Hitesh. When you look back after years, you can know how much happiness you've had”, Said her Mother.

Monica shared this with Hitesh when going home. They both thought it was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be made.

These were some of the transactions that followed shortly;

- 7 Feb: Rs.100, first birthday celebration for Hitesh after marriage.

- 1 Mar: Rs.300, salary raise for Monica.

- 20 Mar: Rs.200, vacation trip to Bali.

- 15 Apr: Rs.2000, Monica got pregnant.

- 1 Jun: Rs.1000, Hitesh got promoted.

..... and there were many more ‘Deposits of Happiness’ !!!!!

However, after years, they started fighting and arguing for trivial things. They didn't talk much. They regretted that they had married. They were nasty to each other and no more in love.

One day Monica talked to her Mother - 'Mom, we can't stand it anymore. We agree to divorce. I can't imagine how I decided to marry this guy!!!'

Her Mother Said, 'Sure, girl, that's no big deal. Just do whatever you want if you really can't stand it. But before that, do one thing first. Remember the saving passbook I gave you on your wedding day? Take out all money and spend it first. You shouldn't keep any record of such a poor marriage.'

Monica thought it was true. So she went to the bank, waiting at the queue and planning to cancel the account. While she was waiting, she took a look at the passbook record. She looked, and looked, and looked. Then the memory of all the previous joy and happiness just came up her mind. Her eyes were then filled with tears. She left and went home.

When she was home, she handed the passbook to Hitesh, asked him to spend the money before getting divorce. The next day, Hitesh gave the passbook back to Monica. She found a new deposit of Rs.5000. And a line next to the record: 'This is the day I notice how much I've loved you thru out all these years. How much happiness you've brought me.'

They hugged and cried, putting the passbook back to the safe.

Do you want to know how much money they had saved when they retired? Well …. We need not know this and believe that money should not matter any more after they had gone through all the good years in their life…after all these were their “Deposits of Happiness” !!!!!

"When you fall, in any way, Don't see the place where you fell, Instead see the place from where you slipped. "Life is about correcting mistakes."

Mind-Bogging Advertisement Quotes::

In this 21st century, the era of Modern Business, Advertisement plays the very pivotal role in making business. All organization has its own existence in the market with its unique Slogan. In the Cut-throat competition, every company is engrossed in snatching flamboyant actor or resplendent actress for the promos of new product with the handsome pay. We can see plenty of holding boards in or around city with a mind-bogging one-liner just to draw the attention of its customers.

Here are few typical advertising slogans that really took my attention.

# Sign on a railway station at Patna :
Aana free, jaana free,
pakde gaye to khana free.

# Seen on a famous beauty parlor in Bombay :
Don't whistle at the girl going out from here.
She may be your grandmother!

# Seen on a bulletin board:
Success is relative
More the success, more the relatives.

# Sign at a barber's saloon in Juhu, Bombay :
we need your heads to run our business.

# A traffic slogan:

Don't let your kids drive if they are not old enough - or else they never will be.....

Its God's responsibility to forgive the terrorist organizations
It's our responsibility to arrange the meeting between them and god."
- Indian Armed Forces

What will be the slogan, if God makes the advertisement?
Here are few heart-touching and meaningful quotes

Please don’t drink and drive,
You are not quite ready to meet me yet

Don’t forget the umbrella
I might water the plant today

If you think MONA LISA is stunning.
You should look at my masterpiece.
In the mirror.

What do I have to do to take your attention?
Take out an ad in the paper

If you missed the sunrise
I made you for today, Don’t worry.
I will make another one tomorrow.

World's Top 10 Blog .

It has been more than 2 years I started blogging but I used to post sporadically depending on my mood and availability of time. Today I tried analyzing where I stand in the world of blogging and came up with conclusion I am nowhere in Blogosphere.

I did a bit googling to drill on this blogging world. There are so many online blog search Engines viz. Amatomu, Bloglines, BlogScope, IceRocket, Sphere, Technorati which used to keep the track of mushrooming blog Traffics.

Techorati is one of the leading Online Blog Search Engines which indexes millions of blog posts in real time and surfaces them in seconds. It gives one attribute called Authority to each blog to track its popularity.

How the Authority is calculated by technorati.

Technorati Authority is the number of blogs linking to a website in the last six months. The higher the number, the more Technorati Authority the blog has.

It is important to note that we measure the number of blogs, rather than the number of links. So, if a blog links to your blog many times, it still only count as +1 toward your authority. Of course, new links mean the +1 will last another 180 days.

Technorati Rank is calculated based on how far you are from the top. The blog with the hightest Technorati Authority is the #1 ranked blog. The smaller your Technorati Rank, the closer you are to the top.

On the basis of this Technorati Authority, here is list of the world’s top 10 blogs with Authority

1. Breaking News and Opinion on the Huffington post (29,213)

2. Gizmodo, the Gadget Guide(18,243)

3. TechCrunch (17,656)

4. Engadget (15,612)

5. Ars Technical (13,377)

6. Boing Boing (12,852)

7. Lifehacker, tips and downloads for getting things done (12,528)

8. Official Google Blog (11,097)

9. Daily Kos: State of the Nation (10,836)

10. Smashing Magazine (9,323)

I am just wondering when I will be able enlist my blog in this list. You can help me out in this campaign just linking my blog in your personal site if you find it deserves!!

Mumbai Massacre

It was almost 12 PM at night when I got the call from my colleague. I was at office at that time in my night shift. He informed me about the gunfire in Mumbai at late night. I then immediately checked in Google news for more details.

It was really shocking. After the couple months of serial bomb blast in Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderbad and Banglore, the financial capital of India, Mumbai, was made the target for attack by terrorist.

The massive attack by the assailants was reported in the famous big hotels of Mumbai and also in CST railway station which took away many innocent lives. As per the latest update more than 125 people were killed including 6 foreigners and more than 400 were seriously injured in this carnage.

Mainly European and American were targeted in the gunfire especially in the TAJ hotel as well as Hotel Oberai where still Gunmen held hundreds of hostage. Though entire security personals were fully mobilized in the affected area to release the hostages, the situation was still not under control.

It was reported that even after 24 hours, the fresh firing was erupted in TAJ hotel where police and terrorist exchanged three rounds of gunfire. Still none of the terrorist associations took the responsibility for this massacre. But people started blaming Pakistan for the whole cause as usual.

Nobody knows what the actual reason is behind this great carnage. Will the life of Mumbai come back to normal tomorrow? It is still the big question.

Here are the few stories of eye-witness of the incidents.

AUSSIE COUPLE: Trip of a lifetime turns to horror

TERRORISTS: Young men open fire indiscriminately

Top 10 Most Expensive Accidents in History ....

Throughout history, humans have always been prone to accidents. Some, such as the exotic car crashes seen on this page, can be very expensive. But that ' s trivial compared to the truly expensive accidents. An accident is defined as "an undesirable or unfortunate happening that occurs unintentionally and usually results in harm, injury, damage, or loss". Our aim is to list the top 10 most expensive accidents in the history of the world as measured in dollars.

# 10. Titanic - $150 Million

The sinking of the Titanic is possibly the most famous accident in the world. But it barely makes our list of top 10 most expensive. On April 15, 1912, the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage and was considered to be the most luxurious ocean liner ever built. Over 1,500 people lost their lives when the ship ran into an iceberg and sunk in frigid waters. The ship cost $7 million to build ($150 million in today ' s dollars).

# 9. Tanker Truck vs Bridge - $358 Million

On August 26, 2004, a car collided with a tanker truck containing 32,000 liters of fuel on the Wiehltal Bridge in Germany . The tanker crashed through the guardrail and fell 90 feet off the A4 Autobahn resulting in a huge explosion and fire which destroyed the load-bearing ability of the bridge. Temporary repairs cost $40 million and the cost to replace the bridge is estimated at $318 Million.

# 8. MetroLink Crash - $500 Million

On September 12, 2008, in what was one of the worst train crashes in California history, 25 people were killed when a Metrolink commuter train crashed head-on into a Union Pacific freight train in Los Angeles . It is thought that the Metrolink train may have run through a red signal while the conductor was busy text messaging. Wrongful death lawsuits are expected to cause $500 million in losses for Metrolink.

# 7. B-2 Bomber Crash - $1.4 Billion

Here we have our first billion dollar accident (and we ' re only #7 on the list). This B-2 stealth bomber crashed shortly after taking off from an air base in Guam on February 23, 2008. Investigators blamed distorted data in the flight control computers caused by moisture in the system. This resulted in the aircraft making a sudden nose-up move which made the B-2 stall and crash. This was 1 of only 21 ever built and was the most expensive aviation accident in history. Both pilots were able to eject to safety.

# 6. Exxon Valdez - $2.5 Billion

The Exxon Valdez oil spill was not a large one in relation to the world ' s biggest oil spills, but it was a costly one due to the remote location of Prince William Sound (accessible only by helicopter and boat). On March 24, 1989, 10.8 million gallons of oil was spilled when the ship ' s master, Joseph Hazelwood, left the controls and the ship crashed into a Reef. The cleanup cost Exxon $2.5 billion.

# 5. Piper Alpha Oil Rig - $3.4 Billion

The world ' s worst off-shore oil disaster. At one time, it was the world ' s single largest oil producer, spewing out 317,000 barrels of oil per day. On July 6, 1988, as part of routine maintenance, technicians removed and checked safety valves which were essential in preventing dangerous build-up of liquid gas. There were 100 identical safety valves which were checked. Unfortunately, the technicians made a mistake and forgot to replace one of them. At 10 PM that same night, a technician pressed a start button for the liquid gas pumps and the world ' s most expensive oil rig accident was set in motion.

Within 2 hours, the 300 foot platform was engulfed in flames. It eventually collapsed, killing 167 workers and resulting in $3.4 Billion in damages.

# 4. Challenger Explosion - $5.5 Billion

The Space Shuttle Challenger was destroyed 73 seconds after takeoff due on January 28, 1986 due to a faulty O-ring. It failed to seal one of the joints, allowing pressurized gas to reach the outside. This in turn caused the external tank to dump its payload of liquid hydrogen causing a massive explosion. The cost of replacing the Space Shuttle was $2 billion in 1986 ($4.5 billion in today ' s dollars). The cost of investigation, problem correction, and replacement of lost equipment cost $450 million from 1986-1987 ($1 Billion in today ' s dollars).

# 3. Prestige Oil Spill - $12 Billion

On November 13, 2002, the Prestige oil tanker was carrying 77,000 tons of heavy fuel oil when one of its twelve tanks burst during a storm off Galicia , Spain . Fearing that the ship would sink, the captain called for help from Spanish rescue workers, expecting them to take the ship into harbour. However, pressure from local authorities forced the captain to steer the ship away from the coast. The captain tried to get help from the French and Portuguese authorities, but they too ordered the ship away from their shores. The storm eventually took its toll on the ship resulting in the tanker splitting in half and releasing 20 million gallons oil into the sea.

According to a report by the Pontevedra Economist Board, the total cleanup cost $12 billion.

# 2. Space Shuttle Columbia - $13 Billion

The Space Shuttle Columbia was the first space worthy shuttle in NASA ' s orbital fleet. It was destroyed during re-entry over Texas on February 1, 2003 after a hole was punctured in one of the wings during launch 16 days earlier. The original cost of the shuttle was $2 Billion in 1978. That comes out to $6.3 Billion in today ' s dollars. $500 million was spent on the investigation, making it the costliest aircraft accident investigation in history. The search and recovery of debris cost $300 million.

In the end, the total cost of the accident (not including replacement of the shuttle) came out to $13 Billion according to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

# 1. Chernobyl - $200 Billion

On April 26, 1986, the world witnessed the costliest accident in history. The Chernobyl disaster has been called the biggest socio-economic catastrophe in peacetime history. 50% of the area of Ukraine is in some way contaminated. Over 200,000 people had to be evacuated and resettled while 1.7 million people were directly affected by the disaster. The death toll attributed to Chernobyl , including people who died from cancer years later, is estimated at 125,000. The total costs including cleanup, resettlement, and compensation to victims has been estimated to be roughly $200 Billion. The cost of a new steel shelter for the Chernobyl nuclear plant will cost $2 billion alone. The accident was officially attributed to power plant operators who violated plant procedures and were ignorant of the safety requirements needed.

It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voices could be that difference.
It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of individuals or a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America.

Nhugu Daye Bhintuna:: Happy New Year 1129

It’s my great pleasure to wish you all my happy new year 1129(Nepal Sambat). I wish for peace, progress and prosperity of all Nepalese in this auspicious celebration of New Year -1129.

Most of my Readers who are not aware of Nepal Sambat may be surprised to get this wish in the mid of Nepali Year (2065 BS) and in the end of English Year ( 2008 AD).

Most of the countries have their own New Year. China has the 15 days New Year celebration starting from 26th Jan (Lunar New year).Sri Lankan celebrates the New Year on every 13th April While Bangladesh has New Year celebration on 14th April every year. Even in a country different ethnic communities celebrate their New Year in different date like Marathi people celebrate New Year called Gudi pawa on 1st day of month Chaitra in BS (which lies in between March and April), Panjabi celebrate New Year Baishaki on the 14/15 April.

In the same respect, one of the ethnic communities, Newar, of Himalayan country, Nepal, celebrates New Year today as Nepal Sambhat. I belong to this ethic community which is famous for its rich culture not only in Nepal but all over the world.

It is my great privilege to write brief about my ethnic community in my blog

Newar: At a glance

Newar are the indigenous people of Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley and are in sixth largest ethnic group in the country representing about 6% of the population. Nepal Bhasa is the mother tongue and Hinduism/Buddhism is the main religion. They are densely dwelling in the Kathmandu valley though spread all over the country and also in some portion of India like in Darjeeling and Sikkim. Ranjana Script is the original Script of Newari though it can be written in Devanagari Script. This Community uses Lunar Calendar Nepal Sambat which only consists 354 days per year due to the fact lunar month has 29 or 30 days based on the movement of the moon.

Typical Newari Dance : Lakhe Dance

Newar are believed to be good businessman by profession though they have good skill in arts and crafts as well as scores are farmer in this community. Newar are famous for their cultures and traditions and very rich in festivals and delicious cuisine in every festival. They have multilevel hierarchy in caste system and lots of superstitions and tattoo still prevail in this community. They worship various gods and goddesses of Hindu along with Living Goddess KUMARI.
